Motherhood is beautiful.

But it can also be deeply overwhelming.

The constant needs.
The noise.
The mental load.
The responsibility that never seems to turn off.

Some days you feel calm and present.

Other days you find yourself snapping, shutting down, or feeling flooded with stress before you can even think clearly.

And afterward you might wonder:

Why did I react that way?
Why does trusting God feel so hard in the moment?
What is wrong with me?

If you’ve ever asked these questions, you are not alone.

And the answer is not that your faith is weak.

Sometimes your body reacts faster than your mind can respond with truth.

God designed our bodies with protective stress responses.

When pressure rises, your nervous system can move into embodied overwhelm before your thoughts catch up.

Which means even mothers who deeply love God can feel reactive, anxious, or overstimulated in the middle of daily life.

The problem is not that you don’t know Scripture.

The problem is that in moments of acute stress, your body needs a pathway back to presence.

This is what the P.R.A.Y. Practice provides.

“I needed this for anxiety attacks and physical ticks…
the P.R.A.Y. practice literally stopped it in its tracks. Thank you!” - McKenna

Why This Matters Right Now

Overwhelm doesn’t wait for a better season.

It shows up:
• in the middle of your child crying
• when you’re already stretched thin
• when your body reacts before you can think

And without a practiced pathway, the same pattern repeats:

You react → you feel guilt → you try harder → you get overwhelmed again

Not because you don’t love God.
But because you don’t yet have a way to return in real time.

This workshop is not just information.

It’s a chance to practice the pathway before the next moment hits.

Introducing the P.R.A.Y. Practice

The P.R.A.Y. Practice is a simple four-step rhythm that helps Christian mothers return to God’s presence in the very moment overwhelm hits.

It integrates:

• biblical truth
• embodied awareness
• simple nervous system regulation
• prayerful surrender

So that when stress rises, you don’t spiral into reaction or shame.

You learn how to return to God in real time.

The four steps are simple and memorable:

P — Pause
Interrupt the stress response and create space.

R — Reorient
Bring your body back into the present moment.

A — Abide
Reconnect with truth and your identity in Christ.

Y — Yield
Release control and entrust the moment to God.

This rhythm can take less than a minute, but it creates a powerful shift from reaction to presence.

Thank you for this practice! Your work has been so helpful to me. - Megan

Meet Your Teacher

Hi, I’m Rachael Alaia.

I’m a Christian mother of three, writer, educator, facilitator, and the founder of The Kingdom Mother ministry.

My work helps Christian mothers move from striving and overwhelm into embodied trust in God so they can experience peace, presence, and joy in the middle of real life.

Through Scripture, nervous system literacy, and gentle formation practices, I guide women back into a faith that is not only believed—but lived in the body.

Because the gospel was never meant to stay in our heads.

It was meant to bring rest to our whole selves.

“I have been using the P.R.A.Y. Practice and it has been powerful and helpful. I’ve also shared it with my mother-in-law—who is a strong Christian woman, but struggles with worrying. She was very grateful to receive it. Thank you… Your work is changing lives!” - Krista
